Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document officially names four specific industry groups that are authorized to receive and manage money collected from a mandatory tax (levy) on timber logs.

Under Australian law, forest growers pay levies when they produce or sell logs. This money is used for industry research, development, or marketing. This Declaration lists which organizations can receive these funds:

Australian Forest Growers
Australian Plantation Products & Paper Industry Council Ltd
Australian Timber Importers Federation
National Association of Forest Industries Limited

By naming these "designated bodies," the Minister authorizes them to receive the collected levy money for the forest growing industry under the Primary Industries (Excise) Levies Act 1999.
