#### 23M Definitions 23M Definitions > In this division— > > applicant—see section 23N(1). > > Departmental Chief Executive has the same meaning as in the [Local Government Act 1993](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1993-030). > > determination date means 24 October 2024. > > exemption means an exemption granted under this division and in force. > > female adult dog does not include the following— > > > (a) a dog kept for the purposes of breeding an assistance animal within the meaning of the [Companion Animals Act 1998](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1998-087), if the occupier of the relevant dog premises is— > > > > > (i) a member of the International Guide Dog Federation, or > > > > > (ii) an accredited member of Assistance Dogs International, > > > (b) a dog that has been rendered permanently infertile. > > relevant person, for dog premises, means— > > > (a) a staff member of a business operating on the dog premises, or > > > (b) a person involved in the management or control of a business on the dog premises. > > **s 23M:** Ins 2024 No 85, Sch 1\[14\].
