68Compulsory pilotage

68 Compulsory pilotage (1) Pilotage is compulsory for every pilotage area within a designated (2) A pilotage authority for any other pilotage area may declare that pilotage is compulsory for the whole or a specified part of that area. (3) A declaration must be published: (a) if the pilotage authority is a public sector entity – in the Gazette; or (b) otherwise – in a newspaper circulating generally in the Territory. (4) A declaration takes effect on the date it is published in the Gazette or in a newspaper, as required under subsection (3), or any later date specified in the declaration. (5) A pilotage authority that makes a declaration that is published in accordance with subsection (3)(b) must give a copy of the declaration to the Director within 3 days after its publication.
