Tasmania regulation
These regulations declare which state, territory and Commonwealth surveillance‑device laws count as ‘corresponding laws’ for the Police Powers (Surveillance Devices) Act 2006 and rescind the 2010 corresponding‑laws regulation. They take effect on Gazette notification and are administered by the Department of Justice. The change affects police and other agencies that rely on cross‑jurisdictional recognition of surveillance‑device authorisations by specifying which local statutes are treated as equivalent for Commonwealth purposes.
