Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

These Regulations set fixed monetary amounts used by the Police Assistance Compensation Act 1964. They prescribe £1,000 for subparagraph (i) and an aggregate £5,000 for subparagraph (ii) of section 5(3)(b), which determines the sums or monetary thresholds applied when assessing compensation under that Act. This affects claimants and the authority that administers payments by clarifying payment limits and the fiscal exposure tied to those specific provisions.
