13 Interim vacancies (1) Where there is an interval between the inability of the Commissioner, a Deputy Commissioner or an Assistant Commissioner to carry out the duties of his office and an appointment by the Minister under section 12(1), the powers and functions of the office to which the inability relates may be Police Administration Act 1978 12 exercised by the member next senior to the member who held the office in respect of which the inability arose. (2) An action taken by a member in accordance with subsection (1) shall be deemed to be the action of the member appointed under section 12.
