116C Authority to use police dogs and police horses (1) A member of the Police Force is authorised to use a police dog or a police horse to assist the member generally in the exercise of the member's powers or performance of the member's functions. (2) A member is authorised to use a detection dog to assist the member in the exercise of the member's powers or performance of the member's functions relating to the detection of a dangerous thing. (3) A member using a police dog or police horse must comply with this Division and any of the following that relate to the use of police dogs or police horses: (a) general orders; (b) orders, instructions or guidelines published in the Police
