23 Presiding member’s functions—Act, s 523 (2) (d)) The presiding member of an inquiry panel has the following functions: (a) managing the affairs of the panel, including ensuring the prompt conduct of the inquiry and issuing directions in relation to the conduct of the inquiry; (b) ensuring, as far as practicable, that there is a good working relationship between the panel and all relevant parties; (c) ensuring the Minister is kept informed about the operations of the panel.
