196 Application for permit for new pipeline (1) An application for a permit made under section 9(1) of the old Act in respect of a new pipeline but not determined before the commencement day is deemed to be an application for a licence to construct and operate the pipeline under this Act (the **new pipeline application**). (2) This Act (except Divisions 1 and 3 of Part 4 and section 28) applies to the new pipeline application. (3) If an application for a licence had not been made before the commencement day in respect of the pipeline, the Minister may require the applicant for the permit to provide any further information that the Minister considers necessary or expedient to enable the Minister to consider and decide on the new pipeline application.
