169 Use of equipment to examine or process things
S. 169(1) amended by No. 13/2025 s. 88.
(1) An inspector may bring on to a premises or land any equipment reasonably necessary for the examination or processing of things found at the premises or land in order to determine whether they are things that may be seized.
(2) If—
S. 169(2)(a) amended by No. 13/2025 s. 88.
(a) it is not practicable to examine or process the things at the premises or land; or
S. 169(2)(b) amended by No. 13/2025 s. 88.
(b) the occupier of the premises or land consents in writing—
the things may be moved to another place so that the examination or processing can be carried out in order to determine whether they are things that may be seized.

(3) The inspector, or a person assisting the inspector, may operate equipment already at the premises or land to carry out the examination or processing of a thing found at the premises or land in order to determine whether it is a thing that may be seized, if the inspector or person assisting the inspector believes on reasonable grounds that—
(a) the equipment is suitable for the examination or processing; and
(b) the examination or processing can be carried out without damage to the equipment or the thing.
