sec.126 Information notice about forfeiture decision
If the council decides under section 125 (1) that a thing is forfeited, the council must as soon as practicable give a person who owned the thing immediately before the forfeiture an information notice about the decision. If the decision was made under section 125 (1) (a) or (b) , the information notice may be given by leaving the notice at the place where the thing was seized, in a conspicuous position and in a reasonably secure way. The information notice must state that the person may apply for a stay of the decision if the person appeals against the decision. However, subsections (1) to (3) do not apply if— the decision was made under section 125 (1) (a) or (b) ; and the place where the thing was seized is— a public place; or a place where the notice is unlikely to be read by the person.
