5Definitions

#### 5 Definitions (1) In this Act, unless the contrary intention appears: > JPDA means the Joint Petroleum Development Area established in Article 3 of the Treaty. > Treaty means the Timor Sea Treaty between Australia and East Timor done at Dili on 20 May 2002, as in force immediately before the commencement of Schedule 1 to the Timor Sea Maritime Boundaries Treaty Consequential Amendments Act 2019. > Note: The Timor Sea Treaty is in Australian Treaty Series 2003 No. 13 (\[2003\] ATS 13) and could in 2019 be viewed in the Australian Treaties Library on the AustLII website (http://www.austlii.edu.au). (2) Unless the contrary intention appears, a word or an expression that is defined in the Treaty has, when used in this Act, the same meaning as in the Treaty.
