24Saving of other rights and remedies

#### 24 Saving of other rights and remedies (1) Subject to this section, this Act does not affect any right of action or other remedy, whether civil or criminal, in proceedings instituted otherwise than by virtue of this Act. (2) Any compensation recovered or other remedy given in proceedings instituted by virtue of this Act shall be taken into account in assessing damages or compensation or giving any other remedy in proceedings instituted otherwise than by virtue of this Act and arising out of the same event or transaction. (3) Any damages or compensation recovered or other remedy given in proceedings instituted otherwise than by virtue of this Act shall be taken into account in assessing compensation or giving any other remedy in proceedings instituted by virtue of this Act and arising out of the same event or transaction.
