#### 59 Granting of petroleum title after objection or proposal 59 Granting of petroleum title after objection or proposal > Petroleum mining operations under a production lease granted in respect of land after compliance with the provisions of this Division may be commenced within 5 years from the date on which the lease takes effect without the necessity for a development consent under the [Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1979-203) if, within that 5-year period, the land comes to be affected by an environmental planning instrument which prohibits those operations or prohibits those operations without consent.
