> > (1) The [Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1967](/view/pdf/asmade/act-1967-69) and the [Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Taxation Act 1967](/view/pdf/asmade/act-1967-70) are repealed.

> > (2), (3) (Repealed)
>
> > (4) The scheme agreed on between the Commonwealth, the States and the Northern Territory, being the scheme set out in Schedule 3, so far as that scheme relates to the operation of this Act, has the force of law by virtue of this subsection.
>
> > (5) For the purposes of the scheme set out in Schedule 3, this Act is the State Act of New South Wales and the Minister is the Designated Authority under this Act.
>
> > (6) A reference to the Designated Authority in a new permit (within the meaning of the scheme set out in Schedule 3) or a new pipeline licence (within the meaning of that scheme) shall for the purposes of that permit or pipeline licence and this Act be read as a reference to the Minister.
>
> > (7) A reference in any other Act, or in any regulation, by-law or other statutory instrument or in any other document, whether of the same or of a different kind, to the “[Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1967](/view/pdf/asmade/act-1967-69)” shall be read and construed as a reference to the “[Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1982-023)”.

> > (8) Schedule 4 (Savings, transitional and other provisions) has effect.
>
> > (9) During the period commencing on the date of commencement of this subsection and ending at the time the [Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Cash Bidding) Amendment Act 1985](http://www.legislation.gov.au/) of the Commonwealth ceases to be in force this Act shall be read as if the amendments set forth in Schedule 5 (Applications for exploration permits by way of cash bidding) were in force.
