213 Power of inspector to require information or documents (1) An inspector who— (a) exercises a power of entry under this Act; and (b) produces her or his identity card for inspection by a person— may, to the extent that is reasonably necessary to determine whether this Act has been contravened or whether there exists a risk of a kind referred to in section 200(1), require the person to give information to the inspector, to produce documents to the inspector and to give reasonable assistance to the inspector. (2) A person must not refuse or fail, without reasonable excuse, to comply with a requirement made under subsection (1). (3) A person must not, in response to a request under this Division— (a) give information that the person knows to be false or misleading in a material detail; or (b) produce a document that the person knows to be false or misleading in a material detail without indicating the respect in which it is false or misleading and, if practicable, providing correct information.
