145 Notice to be given before operation carried out on any land (1) A person must not carry out any petroleum operation on any land unless it gives the owner, occupier or person or body responsible for the management of the land a written notice outlining the proposed operation at least 21 days before the activity starts. (2) The owner, occupier or person or body may waive all or part of the 21 day notice period. (3) In the case of unrestricted Crown land, the notice required by this section must be given to the Minister responsible for the land. (4) In the case of native title land in respect of which there has been no approved determination of the native title within the meaning of the Native Title Act, it is sufficient compliance with this section if the person gives the notice required by this section in accordance with section 24MD(7) of that Act.
