#### 51 Summons to appear at conference or hearing 51 Summons to appear at conference or hearing > > (1) Subject to subsection (2), the Division Head of a Commission Division may issue a summons, in circumstances prescribed by the Commission rules, requiring the attendance of a person at any conference or hearing before the Commission in connection with proceedings before the Commission. > > > (2) If the proceedings are allocated to the Motor Accidents Division, a summons may be issued only to a party to the proceedings. > > > (3) A person must not, without reasonable excuse, fail to comply with a summons served on the person under this section. > > > > Maximum penalty—50 penalty units. > > > (4) In this section— > > > > conference includes a conference at which the parties (or some of them) participate by telephone, closed-circuit television or other means.
