Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations exempt federal Peace Officers from certain state laws when performing their official duties.

What it does:

No state licences required: Peace Officers don't need to obtain state licences or permits to perform their duties, even if state law normally requires them for that activity.
No state registration for Commonwealth property: Animals, vehicles, boats, or equipment belonging to the Commonwealth don't need to be registered under state laws.

Who it affects: Federal Peace Officers (Commonwealth law enforcement and security officers) operating within states.

Why it matters: This prevents state laws from interfering with federal operations. It ensures Commonwealth officers can work immediately without seeking state permissions, and saves the government from paying state registration fees for official vehicles and equipment.
