#### 133 Chief Investigator may investigate transport accidents or incidents 133 Chief Investigator may investigate transport accidents or incidents > > (1) The Chief Investigator may investigate any transport accident or incident that may affect the safe provision of railway operations, a bus service or a ferry service (a safety incident). > > > (2) The Minister may require the Chief Investigator to investigate and report to the Minister on a safety incident. > > > (3) A transport safety investigation may extend to all relevant events and circumstances preceding the safety incident. > > > (4) The Chief Investigator may, at any time, discontinue a transport safety investigation, other than an investigation requested by the Minister.
