#### 60 Proceedings for offences 60 Proceedings for offences > > (1) Proceedings for an offence against this Act or the regulations may be dealt with in a summary manner before the Local Court or before the Supreme Court in its summary jurisdiction. > > > (2) The maximum monetary penalty that may be imposed by the Local Court for an offence under a provision of this Act or the regulations is 500 penalty units or the maximum monetary penalty provided for the offence, whichever is less. > > > (3) Despite the [Criminal Procedure Act 1986](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1986-209) or any other Act, proceedings for an offence under this Act or the regulations may be commenced not later than one year after the date alleged to be the date on which the offence was committed. > > **s 60:** Subst 1997 No 72, Sch 1 \[30\].
