24CQ Commissioner may recommend suspension for non‑parliamentarians during investigation

(1) This section applies if the respondent is not a parliamentarian. (2) The investigating Commissioner may recommend that the respondent’s employer suspend the respondent from duties: (a) if the Commissioner is reasonably satisfied that the employer should do so to comply with a duty or obligation under a work health and safety law; and (b) for a specified period of no longer than 30 days. (3) The investigating Commissioner must consult the respondent’s employer in determining: (a) whether to make the recommendation, if a recommendation has previously been made under this section in relation to the respondent; and (b) the period to be specified.
