24CE Conduct issues arising from anonymous statements
(1) The Chair Commissioner must not deal with a conduct issue if the Chair Commissioner becomes aware of the issue because of an anonymous statement. (2) However, the Chair Commissioner must: (a) refer the conduct issue to be dealt with by the PWSS, if the Chair Commissioner is satisfied that the statement: (i) is not frivolous, vexatious, misconceived or lacking in substance; and (ii) was made in good faith; and (b) if the contact details of the person who made the statement are known to the Chair Commissioner—take reasonable steps to contact the person and advise them of the services provided by the PWSS under section 15 (support function).
