88 Independence of Parliamentary Integrity Adviser
(1) The Parliamentary Integrity Adviser is an independent officer of the Parliament.
(2) The functions, immunities and obligations of the Parliamentary Integrity Adviser are as specified in this Act and other laws of the State.
(3) There are no implied functions, rights, immunities or obligations arising from the Parliamentary Integrity Adviser being an independent officer of the Parliament.
(4) The powers of the Parliament to act in relation to the Parliamentary Integrity Adviser are as specified in or applying under this Act, the Constitution Act 1975 and other laws of the State.
(5) There are no implied powers of the Parliament arising from the Parliamentary Integrity Adviser being an independent officer of the Parliament.
(6) Subject to this Act and other laws of the State, the Parliamentary Integrity Adviser has complete discretion in the performance of the Adviser's functions.
(7) In particular and without limiting subsection (6), the Parliamentary Integrity Adviser is not subject to the direction or control of the Minister in respect of the performance of the Adviser's functions.
