53 Term of appointment and remuneration
(1) A commissioner—
(a) holds office for the period, not exceeding 5 years, specified in the instrument of appointment; and
(b) is eligible for reappointment once.
(2) A commissioner is entitled to the remuneration and allowances specified in the instrument of appointment.
(3) A commissioner's remuneration cannot be reduced during the commissioner's term of office unless the commissioner consents to the reduction.
(4) A commissioner's remuneration is payable out of the Consolidated Fund which is appropriated accordingly to the necessary extent.
(5) Schedule 2 has effect.
