#### 9 Constitution and role of the Australian Parliamentary Service (1) The Australian Parliamentary Service consists of Secretaries, the Parliamentary Librarian and Parliamentary Service employees. (2) The Parliamentary Service serves the Parliament by providing professional support, advice and facilities to each House of the Parliament, to parliamentary committees and to Senators and Members of the House of Representatives, independently of the Executive Government of the Commonwealth. (3) To the extent that section 21 of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (which deals with the application of government policy to non‑corporate Commonwealth entities) applies to a Department, that section is subject to subsection (2) of this section.
