64X Appointment of Parliamentary Budget Officer
(1) The Parliamentary Budget Officer is to be appointed by the Presiding Officers, for a term of 4 years.
Note: The Presiding Officers must obtain the approval of the Joint Committee for Public Accounts and Audit before appointing a person as the Parliamentary Budget Officer (see section 64XA).
(2) The Parliamentary Budget Officer holds office on a full‑time basis. (3) A Parliamentary Budget Officer is eligible for reappointment, but must not hold office for a total of more than 8 years. (4) An appointment is not affected by any defect or irregularity in or in connection with the appointment.
