#### 4 Definition of basic salary 4 Definition of basic salary > > (1) For the purposes of this Act, the basic salary is as follows— > > > > > (a) until the Tribunal otherwise determines, the amount of the annual allowance by way of salary payable under the law of the Commonwealth to a member of the House of Representatives who is not entitled to any additional salary, less $500, > > > > > (b) the amount determined by the Tribunal from time to time in accordance with this section. > > > (2) The Tribunal may make a determination fixing the amount of the basic salary. Determinations are to be made at such times as the Tribunal thinks fit or the Minister directs. > > > (3) In making a determination, the Tribunal must have regard to— > > > > > (a) the fiscal position and outlook of the Government, and > > > > > (b) the likely effect of the making of the determination on the position and outlook. > > > (4) (Repealed) > > **s 4:** Subst 2011 No 25, Sch 1 \[1\].
