77 Exceptional circumstances determinations
(1) For the purposes of subsection 33(7) of the Act, the Minister must take into account the following matters when deciding whether exceptional circumstances justify a determination under subsection 33(2) of the Act for provision of public resources relating to the conduct of a member’s parliamentary business: (a) any unexpected event, such as a natural disaster, that has affected the member or the member’s electorate; (b) any circumstances which mean that the member’s needs cannot otherwise be addressed under the Act; (c) the member’s family or caring responsibilities; (d) whether, despite the member being otherwise ineligible for a public resource, providing the member with that resource would represent value for money for the Commonwealth. (2) The Minister may take into account any other matter the Minister considers relevant.
