Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This regulation cancels (repeals) two earlier sets of rules about ozone protection.

Specifically: It removes Statutory Rules 1993 No. 359 and 1994 No. 136 from the books. Those earlier rules controlled the use of specific ozone-damaging chemicals: hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), hydrobromofluorocarbons (HBFCs), and methyl bromide.

Why it matters: This is a housekeeping measure to tidy up the law. It removes outdated or redundant regulations, likely because the rules were consolidated elsewhere or the substances are now managed under different legislation.
