#### 137 Statement of regulatory policy (1) The Parliament intends that bodies or associations that the Commissioner is satisfied represent sections of the online industry should develop codes (industry codes) that are to apply to participants in the respective sections of the industry in relation to their online activities. (2) The Parliament intends that the Commissioner should make reasonable efforts to ensure that, for each section of the online industry, either: (a) an industry code is registered under this Division within 6 months after the commencement of this Division; or (b) an industry standard is registered under this Division within 12 months after the commencement of this Division.
