#### 20 Principal object of this Part The principal object of this Part is to establish the office of, and set out the powers and functions of, the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman so that he or she may protect the interests of people who are covered by private health insurance by: (a) assisting people who have made complaints relating to private health insurance to resolve those complaints; and (b) investigating the practices and procedures of private health insurers, private health insurance brokers and health care providers; and (c) mediating between private health insurers and health care providers; and (d) disseminating information about private health insurance and the rights and obligations of privately insured people.
