16J Notice of referral If the Ombudsman refers a complaint to a person or body under section 16I or 16IA, the Ombudsman— S. 16J(a) substituted by No. 2/2019 s. 160(b). (a) must advise the complainant that the complaint has been referred to the person or body; and (b) may inform the following in writing— (i) the principal officer (if any) of the authority to which the complaint relates; and (ii) the responsible Minister for the authority to which the complaint relates; and (iii) if the authority to which the complaint relates is a member of staff of a Council, the Mayor of the Council.
