What this law does

This Act is a "money bill" that puts cash into Australia’s early pension system. It authorises the government to spend £3.5 million (in 1910 currency) on disability and age pensions.

How the money moves

Source: The Consolidated Revenue Fund (the government’s main bank account, filled by taxes and duties)
Destination: A special trust account called the Invalid and Old-age Pensions Fund
Purpose: Paying pensions to eligible elderly people and those with disabilities

Who it affects

Pensioners: People receiving the Commonwealth invalid (disability) or old-age pension
The Treasury: This creates the legal authority to move public money into the dedicated pension account

Context This Act works together with the Invalid and Old-age Pensions Act 1908 (which set the rules about who could claim) by providing the actual funds to pay the pensions.
