559 Exemption from duty

Duty under the Duties Act 2000 is not chargeable—

(a) on a title; or

(b) on a transfer of a title; or

(c) on any other instrument in so far as it relates to a legal or equitable interest in or affecting a title.

560 Simplified outline

 The Minister must keep a Register of greenhouse gas titles and greenhouse gas search authorities.

 A transfer of a greenhouse gas title must be approved by the Minister, and an instrument of transfer must be registered under this Part.

 A dealing in a greenhouse gas title must be approved by the Minister, and the approval must be entered in the Register.
