This Act does not apply to the exploration for or recovery of petroleum. Offshore petroleum exploration and mining are regulated by the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1967 (Cwlth) and the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982 . For petroleum , see schedule 5 (Dictionary).
