283 Protection of confidentiality of documentary information obtained by the Registrar

(1) This section restricts what the Registrar may do with documentary information. (2) The Registrar must not make the information: (a) publicly known; or (b) available to a person (other than a Minister, a Minister of a State, a Minister of the Australian Capital Territory or a Minister of the Northern Territory). (3) Subsection (2) does not apply if the Registrar makes the information known or available: (a) in accordance with regulations made for the purposes of this paragraph; or (b) for the purposes of the administration of this Act.
