#### 26 Obligation to install filters (1) The responsible person for a publicly funded computer must ensure that a filter that has been accredited, in writing, by the Telecommunications Minister is installed on the computer. > Note: A person commits an offence if the person contravenes this subsection (see section 30). (2) The responsible person for the computer must also ensure that the filter is maintained and updated on the computer. > Note: A person commits an offence if the person contravenes this subsection (see section 30). (3) However, the filter is not required to filter content for a period if the person who uses the computer during that period needs, for the purposes of his or her work, research or study, to access material that would otherwise be blocked by the filter. (4) An accreditation under subsection (1) is not a legislative instrument. (5) The Minister must cause an accreditation under subsection (1) to be published in the Gazette.
