Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act makes a minor change to how laws made for the Northern Territory are made public.

Before this change, the Northern Territory (Administration) Act required certain laws (called Ordinances) to be published in full. This Act adds a new rule saying that instead of publishing the entire text, the government can simply publish a notice in the Government Gazette (the official public record) stating that the law has been made and where people can buy a copy.

This makes it easier and cheaper to notify the public about new Territory laws, while still ensuring people can access the full text if they need it.
