Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

The Act protects employment rights of former Government Residents by treating their time in that office as continuous service if they remain employed by the Commonwealth or a Commonwealth authority. It preserves accrued benefits (like leave and pensions) and continued accrual of entitlements for those who held the office immediately before the provision took effect. This prevents loss of service rights during administrative change.
