Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

The New Guinea Timber Agreement Act (Repeal) Act 1972 simply abolishes the earlier New Guinea Timber Agreement Act, removing that law and its legal framework from force.

That repeal affects any government bodies, companies or individuals who relied on rights or obligations created by the original Act and reflects the unwinding of Commonwealth legislation tied to the Territory of Papua and New Guinea as Australia reduced its administrative role.
