Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation repeals (cancels) three older sets of rules about eye tests for apprentices working in the maritime industry.

What it does

Removes the Navigation (Sight Tests for Apprentices) Regulations from 1964, 1974, and 1980
Stops the requirement for apprentices in the shipping industry to undergo specific eyesight examinations under those old rules

Who it affects

Maritime companies employing apprentices
People training to work on ships (apprentices)
The Department of Transport

Why it matters This cleans up the rulebook by removing outdated health requirements. The repeal likely happened because sight testing standards were moved into modern medical fitness rules or general occupational health laws, making these specific apprenticeship eye test regulations unnecessary.
