Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This instrument repeals (cancels) the old Navigation (Ship Reporting) Regulations.

Previously, these regulations required ships to report their movements and positions when navigating in certain Australian waters. This instrument removes those specific reporting obligations entirely.

Why it matters:

It eliminates outdated or redundant reporting requirements for vessels
It simplifies maritime law by removing rules that may have been replaced by newer systems (such as modern vessel traffic services)
This is a "clean-up" measure—it removes old laws without introducing new ones
