Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What it does: This regulation completely removes the rules for 'limited coast-trade voyages' that were established in 1976.

Who it affects: Australian shipping companies and vessel operators who were previously subject to the 1976 Navigation (Limited Coast-Trade Voyages) Regulations.

Why it matters: It scraps a specific set of Commonwealth restrictions on certain domestic sea trips (traveling between Australian ports). This simplifies the legal framework for coastal trading by eliminating these particular requirements, though operators must still follow other maritime safety and navigation laws.
