#### 9A Definitions In this Part, unless the contrary intention appears: > ship does not include a barge, lighter or other floating vessel that is not self‑propelled. > STCW Convention means the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 adopted at London by the International Maritime Organization on 7 July 1978 as affected by any amendments made under Article XII of the Convention that have entered into force for Australia. > Note: The text of the Convention is set out in the Australian Treaties Series 1984, No. 7\. In 2005 this was available in the Australian Treaties Library of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, accessible through that Department’s website.
