#### 257 Loading, stowing, carriage and unloading of cargo (1) The regulations may make provision for or in relation to the loading, stowing or carriage of cargo in ships or the unloading of cargo from ships. (2) Without limiting the generality of subsection (1), the regulations which may be made by virtue of that subsection include regulations for or in relation to the giving of notices with respect to the loading, or proposed loading, of cargo into ships. (3) A person who is guilty of an offence against the regulations made by virtue of this section is punishable on conviction by a fine not exceeding $5,000. (4) In this section, cargo includes ballast.
