#### 249 Shipping of dangerous goods (1) A person shall not carry dangerous goods in a ship or place dangerous goods, or cause dangerous goods to be placed, on board a ship for carriage in the ship unless: (a) the outside of the package containing the goods is distinctly marked with a description of the goods; and (b) a description in writing of the goods (not being a description contained in the ordinary shipping documents) is given to the owner or master of the ship at or before the time the goods are placed on board the ship. Penalty: $10,000 or imprisonment for 4 years, or both. (2) Subsection (1) does not apply to the owner or master of the ship.
