#### 228 Ships to be furnished with distress signals (1) The master of a ship shall not take the ship to sea and the owner of a ship shall not permit the ship to go to sea unless it is duly furnished with the prescribed means of making signals of distress. Penalty: $5,000 or imprisonment for 2 years, or both.
