226Authority may issue certificate at request of Load Line Convention country

#### 226 Authority may issue certificate at request of Load Line Convention country (1) Where: (a) the government of a Load Line Convention country requests the Authority to issue or authorise the issue of, or to endorse or authorise the endorsement of, in respect of a ship that is registered in that country and is a ship to which the Load Line Convention applies, a certificate in the form of the International Load Line Certificate set out in Annex III to the Convention; and (b) the Authority is satisfied that the ship complies with the provisions of the Convention; it may issue or authorise the issue of, or to endorse or authorise the endorsement of, in respect of the ship a certificate in that form. (2) A certificate issued or endorsed under this section: (a) shall contain a statement to the effect that it has been issued or endorsed at the request of the government of the country in which the ship is registered; and (b) has effect, for the purposes of this Division, as if it had been issued or endorsed by that government.
