21A Chaplains — prescribed rank for purposes of appointment, promotion, retirement, termination of appointment etc
For the purposes of section 18 of the Act, a chaplain is taken to have the following rank:
(a) for a chaplain in division 1 of the chaplain branch — Lieutenant;
(b) for a chaplain in division 2 of the chaplain branch — Lieutenant-Commander;
(c) for a chaplain in division 3 of the chaplain branch — Commander;
(d) for a chaplain in division 4 of the chaplain branch:
(i) who has precedence over all other chaplains of his or her church or faith in the chaplain branch — Commodore;
(ii) in any other case — Captain;
(e) for a chaplain in division 5 of the chaplain branch — Commodore.
